How to book Park Hyatt Cabo on points
Now, we booked our stay at Park Hyatt Cabo, redeeming Hyatt Points. One of the biggest reasons to consider Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is the redemption value. Standard rooms cost around 45,000 World of Hyatt points per night. When cash rates are hovering near $2,000, that’s a strong use of points.
If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards, those are the points you can transfer to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
You’ll want to search for “Standard Room” availability directly on the Hyatt’s website. Additionally, if you have a Hyatt Suite Upgrade Award, this is a good property to apply it to confirm a Suite upgrade months in advance.
Check in and arrival at the Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol
Since Park Hyatt Los Cabos just opened on December 3rd of 2025, even the taxi drivers were still figuring it out its location. When we arrived, we actually pulled up to the neighboring property’s entrance first because the exact drop-off wasn’t clear. But we quickly found out where our hotel entrance kiosk was.
Once arrived, we were greeted immediately by staff and welcomed into the open sitting area rather than a traditional front desk line. We were offered non-alcoholic hibiscus drinks while we sat down, and the team walked us through everything.

They explained that the resort is still finishing parts of the construction and that not all buildings and outlets are fully operational yet. They also mentioned that we were still among the first 100 guests to stay at the property (mid January). Apparently, the team had spent three months practicing and preparing to welcome guests before opening, and you could feel their excitement.
I also noticed the consistency in their “uniform”: the same blue shirt, beige pants, and even the same sneakers, which added a professional touch to the whole experience.
Now, earlier that morning, we had already seen in the Hyatt app that we were upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View suite, and the front desk confirmed it again during check-in. Our room was in Building 7 and was ready right away, which is always a great start.
Right after, another staff member escorted us by golf cart to our room. Given how large the property is, that ride was helpful.

Deluxe Suite Ocean View With Terrace room at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol
We were upgraded to the Deluxe Suite Ocean View With Terrace, and at 957 square feet (plus a very large terrace), it felt spacious from the moment we arrived.
First, the layout works really well. There’s a proper living room and a separate bedroom with a sliding door in between, so it feels like a true one-bedroom suite. There are also two bathrooms, which could be a game-changer when traveling with kids.
This time, it was an adult-only trip, though, and we split our time between the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal and here.

Then, the terrace is oversized. There are lounge chairs and a full dining set, and the ocean view is open and beautiful.

Inside, the design is clean and modern. The bathroom in the bedroom offered both a deep soaking tub and shower, as well as full-size Le Labo products (alas, not the tiny take-home lotion bottles), plus thoughtful extras like a bug repellent.

Complimentary snacks like chocolate and chips were waiting for us, along with branded hats and a beach bag. At first, I wasn’t sure if the hats were just part of the decor, haha, but the staff confirmed they were for us to keep.

Plus, as a welcome amenity, the hotel left a DIY margarita setup with all the ingredients, which was such a fun touch.

Dining options at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol
Right now, there are two restaurants open at Park Hyatt Cabo: Mesa Madre and Costa Mar.

Globalist breakfast at Park Hyatt Cabo
First, Mesa Madre is where you’ll have breakfast. Note that it’s closer to the lobby, not on the beach. Breakfast was à la carte with a lot of options. As Globalists, we were told there’s currently no limit on breakfast items, which is generous, though I’m not sure if that will change once the property is fully up and running.
I ordered the salmon bruschetta with a poached egg, and my husband had eggs Benedict; both were very good.

We also kept seeing everyone order the wellness shots, so of course, we had to try them too. They were actually really good, refreshing and gingery (mine).

Dinner at Costa Mar, Park Hyatt Cabo
Then, for dinner, we went to Costa Mar, which is located by the adult pool and closer to the beach. Since one of the other restaurants isn’t open yet, they’re currently serving some of the Mediterranean dishes from the future Silán restaurant. We ordered kebabs, and the portions were huge. Honestly, we could have easily shared one entrée.
The staff, though, was very attentive. Our waiter offered to take our picture, and at one point, he brought over a new round of our drinks on the house, saying he thought the first batch wasn’t made properly. Honestly, they were completely fine, but he insisted.

However, prices are high. The food is good, the presentation is beautiful, but this is not casual pricing. Just something to be aware of.
Lunch by the pool
On the day of departure, we decided to spend a few hours at the adults-only pool. We took a walk on the beach first, then came back ready to order lunch.
At first, we didn’t see any staff around the pool area, so we walked over to the restaurant to ask for a lunch menu. Someone kindly brought it over to our chairs, which we appreciated.
However, after that, no one came back to take our order. We waited more than 20 minutes, and it wasn’t busy or understaffed, which made it more surprising.
Since we still had packing to do before checkout, we eventually had to get up and go to the host to ask if we could just order the food to our room instead.

It wasn’t a huge issue, but for a luxury resort, especially a brand-new Park Hyatt, I expected the service to feel a bit more attentive in that moment.

Amenities at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol
The design throughout the entire resort is very white and very airy. The lobby, especially, is almost completely white. Clean lines, open space, minimal décor.

The amenities at Park Hyatt Los Cabos are centered around the pools, and there’s a lot of space to spread out. The property is large, so nothing feels cramped, and you’re not stacked on top of other guests.
There are multiple pools throughout the resort, including a family-friendly main pool area where you’ll see kids and groups gathering during the day.
Then there’s a smaller, adults-only pool with a hot tub, which has a completely different atmosphere.

Overall, the amenities feel high-end and well thought out, but the design aesthetic is very specific.
Beach at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol
The beach at Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is beautiful to look at, but it’s not swimmable. The surf is strong and rough, so you’re really just there for the view, the sand, and relaxing in a lounge chair. It’s not a place to take a dip, which is worth knowing before you plan your day.
There is a short stretch of the beach where you could take a walk and, of course, enjoy witnessing the jumping whales from December to February.

Bottom line
Overall, Park Hyatt Los Cabos is a strong option if you’re looking for a luxury resort in Cabo and want to maximize your World of Hyatt points. The property is brand new, very large, and ultra-modern with a bright design. While some areas are still being finished, the check-in, room, dining, and pool experiences are all solid.
If you’re booking on points, this is one of the better redemptions in Cabo right now, especially compared to other high-end resorts.
FAQ
1. Is it worth booking Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol on points?
Yes, the points redemption at Park Hyatt Cabo is excellent. Standard rooms are 45,000 World of Hyatt points per night, which is a strong value compared to cash rates at this luxury Cabo resort.
2. How does Park Hyatt Cabo compare to other Park Hyatt properties?
This was our 8th Park Hyatt stay, and Park Hyatt Cabo still feels brand new and not fully established. I was surprised they launched it as a Category 8 property right away, considering some areas of the resort are still finishing construction.
3. How does Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol compare to The Cape, a Thompson Hotel?
We stayed at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, three years ago and loved it. It’s a smaller luxury resort with a different vibe, especially the rooftop area, which feels more energetic than Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol.
4. How does Park Hyatt Los Cabos compare to Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos?
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is one of our favorite luxury resorts in Cabo. We’ve stayed there twice. Personally, I preferred it over Park Hyatt Cabo. Service felt more polished and prompt, and the traditional design with warm colors stands out more than the ultra-modern white aesthetic at Park Hyatt, plus every room at the Waldorf Astoria has a heated plunge pool.
5. How far is Park Hyatt Cabo from the airport?
It took us about an hour to reach Park Hyatt Cabo from Los Cabos International Airport. With ongoing construction along the route, it’s a good idea to plan extra travel time.
