We recently stayed at Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows, a modern and luxurious resort located in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix. The hotel boasts 185 spacious bungalow-style rooms and suites on 23 acres of secluded land, surrounded by the Camelback Mountain. As soon as you arrive, you’re welcomed by a stunning contemporary design, beautiful desert landscaping, and artistic touches throughout the property. In this review, we will take a closer look at what this property has to offer.
Booking
Andaz Scottsdale is a Category 6 Hyatt hotel. So, for our stay, we redeemed 58k Hyatt Points (29k Hyatt Points per night on a peak night) and a Hyatt Free Night Award Category 1-7. You can learn more about earning and redeeming the Hyatt Free Night Awards here.
This is our second stay at Andaz from Hyatt, and we can admit it is becoming one of our favorite brands so far. You can read more about our stay at Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica here.

Check in
Upon our arrival at Andaz Scottsdale in the early afternoon, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff. The lobby’s contemporary design and chic decor immediately caught our attention. While checking us in, the staff kindly offered us a refreshing welcome drink, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture after a long day of travel.
Andaz Scottsdale is located only within 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Due to a busy weekend, we were unable to get any upgrades, so we ended up staying in the Standard Room that we initially booked.
💡 Good to know
Note that if you are redeeming your Hyatt Free Night Award, you can not combine it with your Suite Upgrade Award. Sometimes, it makes us not use our FNC in favor of SUA to secure a Suite months before our stay.
Luckily, our room was already ready before the official check-in time, so we headed straight there.
Parking
One interesting feature of the parking at Andaz Scottsdale Resort is that several parking areas are available throughout the property. The hotel has 185 bungalow-style buildings, and at times, you can park your car right outside your room, which is what we did.
Self-parking was $23 per night, which was waived for us as Globalists.

Dining at Andaz Scottsdale
Turquoise Pool Bar
Turquoise Pool Bar is a poolside cafe at Andaz Scottsdale that offers a selection of food and beverages served in your lounge chair or the small dining area.
The operating hours are daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (the only onsite lunch option), and here you can find the Turquoise Pool Bar menu.
They only offered a cheeseburger, cheese quesadilla, and watermelon cubes for kids. However, when we asked if they could make a grilled cheese for our 3-year-old, they happily accommodated our request.
Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen
Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen is an on-site restaurant that offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, fresh pasta made in-house, and craft drinks. Note that the restaurant is open daily but only serves breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast
At Andaz Scottsdale, breakfast was served a-la-cart style only from 7 am at the main restaurant, Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen. As Globalists, we got a complimentary breakfast for 2 adults and 2 kids.
We noticed small charges on our bill every day after breakfast, but we decided to wait until check-out to bring it up. It turned out that the hotel only had a “breakfast package” in their system, which had a $100 daily cap and was separate from the complimentary Globalist breakfast. The front desk clerk removed all the charges.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing, and we loved it. Although they didn’t have a specific menu for kids, we ordered buttermilk pancakes, a bowl of berries, and a side of eggs for our girls, and they were definitely happy with it.
Dinner
We had an excellent experience at Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen. The food was outstanding, and we particularly enjoyed the tapas-style appetizers and fresh pasta. Our girls had their own pasta, and we shared some of our items with them too.

Pool at Andaz Scottsdale
The pool is located by the Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen and is open daily from 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM. The area also featured an oversized hot tub and Turquoise Pool Bar.
After a day of hiking in the Sonoran Desert, our girls enjoyed spending time here.
Is Andaz Scottsdale kid-friendly?
It certainly was for us. The pool and hot tub were open to people of all ages, and our girls enjoyed spending time there. The on-site restaurant provided small portions for kids, as well as drawing papers and crayons. The property also had several fire pits that we loved to sit by after the day out hiking and exploring.
Fitness Center
The Fitness Center is open 24/7 and offers a variety of Technogym fitness equipment, Peloton bikes, and the Tonal fitness system. It also offers complimentary meditation and yoga classes and boot camp sessions, among other activities.
Palo Verde Spa at Andaz Scottsdale
Palo Verde Spa offers a range of spa treatments, steam rooms, private outdoor hot tubs for men and women, a secluded pool, and an outdoor lounge area. While you relax and unwind, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of Camelback Mountain.
Area attractions
Great news is that Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows is located just a few minutes’ drive from Old Town Scottsdale. It is also within walking distance of various dining and shopping options.
Additionally, you’re also about a 20-minute drive from great hiking trails, golf courses, and other attractions in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. You can read more about kid-friendly activities in Scottsdale here.
