One of the most popular winter destinations in Utah is the little town of Park City, just outside of Salt Lake City. Famous for its ski resorts, good food, and museums, Park City is definitely a great place to visit.
We stayed at Hyatt Centric Park City, located at the base of the Canyons Village. It’s a ski-in ski-out resort with standard rooms and one to four bedroom residences. This Hyatt’s great location, just 10 minutes away from the charming Main Street, is perfect for accessing everything you need and exploring Park City.
Booking
Hyatt Centric Park City is a Category 7 Hyatt Hotel from the Hyatt’s Boundless Collection.
We booked a Standard 2 Queen Beds room using 30k (and 25k for off-peak) Hyatt Points per night. We paid 85k Hyatt Points for our 3-night stay; the cash rate would have been $2,841.55. So we redeemed Hyatt Points at 3.34 cents per point, an outstanding redemption value!
Remember to check the Points Calendar on the Hyatt website before booking for the off-peak nights so you can redeem fewer points for your stay!
💡 Good to Know
Hyatt Centric Park City was built in 2009 and renovated in 2017. The hotel has 115 rooms and one, two, three, and four bedroom residences (aka Standard and Premium Suites).
Moreover, we were able to redeem one of our Suite Upgrade Awards and got upgraded to a 935 sq. ft. One Bedroom Large Residence months before our arrival, pretty neat!
Let’s be honest getting upgraded to a suite at check-in can be hit or miss because it is highly dependent on suite availability on that particular day. With Suite Upgrade Award certificates, you can have peace of mind by locking in your upgrade months in advance!
💡 Good to Know
Did you know that World of Hyatt members can get up to 4 guaranteed Suite Upgrades as milestone rewards per year? You get 2 Suite Upgrade Awards after reaching 50 elite qualifying nights (EQNs) and 2 more after reaching 60 EQNs!
This time not only we redeemed points for our hotel stay, but we also booked a roundtrip flight from San Jose to Salt Lake City for the four of us using Delta SkyMiles. We redeemed 151,000 Delta SkyMiles at an average of 1.38 cents per point.
For a 3-night stay and 4 round-trip tickets to Park City, we paid ONLY $44.80 in taxes (vs. $4,953.55, we would have paid in cash)!

Check-in
We arrived at Hyatt Centric Park City in the early afternoon. After leaving our rental car with the valet, we proceeded to the check-in area. The concierge was really friendly and confirmed our Suite Upgrade Award for the One Bedroom Large Residence. Luckily, the room was ready, and we headed straight there.
Parking
Hyatt Centric Park City has complimentary valet parking in a nearby garage. They also offer ski valet that would take care of your equipment.
Globalist Upgrade
We got upgraded to a 935 sq. ft. One Bedroom Large Residence with a full-size kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and a spacious balcony (that stretches from the living room to the bedroom).
Living Room
We loved the spacious yet cozy living room with the fireplace and an oversized sleeper sofa. We also requested a crib for Zoe, and they brought it over with no problem.
The full-size kitchen and dining set are a great addition to the suite when traveling with kids. Although we did not use the kitchen for cooking since we mostly ate out, we had some hot tea in the evening, and the girls enjoyed their snacks.
Bedroom
The bedroom had one King bed, a dresser, and a fireplace. It also had additional access to the balcony.
Bathroom
There were two bathrooms in the Suite. The bathroom in the bedroom had both a tub and a separate shower cabin, and the bathroom in the living room had an accessible shower.
Dining
Hyatt Centric Park City has one onsite restaurant, Escala Provisions Company Restaurant & Bar, and a Market for grab-and-go items. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with a variety of options for both adults and kids, including a special kids menu.
Breakfast at Escala Provisions Company Restaurant & Bar
The hotel had very limited buffet options, we could not say we were impressed with what they had to offer.
You could also order breakfast from the menu. The restaurant usually wasn’t crowded, and there were plenty of workers, but the service could have been faster; we always had to wait for our food or a check.
Lunch at Escala Provisions Company Restaurant & Bar
On the very first day of our stay, we had lunch at the Escala Provisions Company Restaurant & Bar. We grabbed some burgers and shared the platter while the girls had their cheese pizza. We wouldn’t call it a fine dining restaurant, but the food was well prepared and nicely presented.
The Market
The Market in the lobby offered some grab-and-go items, such as coffee drinks, pastries, or sandwiches to-go. They also had some beverages and souvenirs for purchase.
Amenities
Pool & Spa
Hyatt Centric Park City has a pool and spa that are open year-round and obviously are heated in winter. The pool area had one large pool, one oversized spa, and one smaller. It was definitely an exciting experience to be soaking in a hot spa while it was freezing and snowing outside.
We actually checked the temperature of the water, and it was 103F in the spa and 83F in the pool!
Ski-in / ski-out
Hyatt Centric is a ski-in / ski-out hotel with access to the ski resort right from the hotel. This feature is particularly convenient for winter sports enthusiasts as it eliminates the need for long walks in bulky ski gear or having to take a shuttle.
Fitness center
The hotel has a Fitness Center that is open 24/7.
Main Street Shuttle
During the ski season, Hyatt Centric Park City offers a complimentary shuttle service to Main Street. It departs from the hotel every 30 minutes.
This is definitely a great option for getting to Downtown Park City, as the traffic gets busy the closer you get to Main Street. In some areas, access to Main Street is open only to residents, and you must go around the Downtown area to find a parking spot.
Area Attractions
There are many things to do in Park City besides the obvious skiing and snowboarding. We had a blast exploring the area and participating in family-friendly activities. You can read more about things to do in Park City here.
Bottom Line
In conclusion, Hyatt Centric Park City offers a luxurious mountain getaway with its spacious rooms, great amenities, and prime location in the heart of Park City. Whether you’re looking to hit the slopes or explore the town, this hotel is a top choice for a memorable and comfortable stay.
