Lazy river, waterslide, saltwater lagoon at Grand Hyatt Kauai

One of the best family resorts in Kauai, Hawaii, Grand Hyatt Kauai checks every box: a lazy river, waterfalls, a saltwater lagoon, and a twisting waterslide surrounded by lush gardens.

The lazy river in Grand Hyatt Kauai winds through tropical gardens with waterfalls and caves. There’s a 150-foot waterslide, a saltwater lagoon where you can paddle around with floaties, and multiple pools spread across the property, including a quieter adults-only one.

Rope bridge, waterfalls and waterslides at Hyatt Regency Maui
Hyatt Regency Maui is one of the best Maui resorts for families and is basically a pool playground carved into lava rock. There are waterfalls, a rope bridge, a 150-foot lava tube slide, and a family-friendly pool that winds through palm trees. It’s not as massive as some others, but the atmosphere is fun and tropical.

Kids can spend hours going from the slide to the hot tub while the adults grab drinks from the Grotto Bar tucked inside a cave. Located on Kaanapali Beach, it’s a great base for snorkeling or just relaxing poolside between beach runs.
Waterslides, pools and a beach access at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach
The Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach is one of the best beachfront resorts in California and is great if you want the best of both worlds—beach and pool. The kids’ water play area at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach has 2 small waterslides, a splash pool, and a hot tub right next to it so parents can stay close without being soaked.

It’s called Slyders, and ours spent hours there. You’re also steps from the beach and pier, and we liked that the resort had a big main pool and a quieter saltwater pool if you wanted a break from kid energy.

Sand beach pool, multiple pools at Grand Hyatt Scottsdale
We’ve had this top family resort in Arizona, Grand Hyatt Scottsdale, on our wish list for a while, and we’re finally heading there for the first time next February! We’re especially excited about the zero-entry sand pool—it looks perfect for little ones—and the 2.5-acre water playground that seems ideal for kids to burn off energy.
The resort also has an adults-only pool, lush landscaping (even in the desert!), and plenty of shaded areas, which is always a win.
Waterslides, saltwater lagoon at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach
Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach resort is one of the best Waikiki family resorts and feels like a mini city itself.
With five towers, a huge saltwater lagoon where you can paddleboard or kayak, multiple pools, including the Paradise Pool with a multi-level waterslide and waterfall, Hilton Waikiki Beach is one-stop family vacation destination in Hawaii.

While the kids stay entertained and parents get a little break too, it’s right on the beach with easy access to shops and restaurants.

Waterslides, lazy river, splash pad at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells
Grand Hyatt Indian Wells is more of a waterpark than a hotel pool. The HyTides water park features two 30‑ft dueling slides, a smaller kid-friendly slide, and a winding 450‑ft lazy river weaving under palm trees.

Add seven pools total—some adults-only—and a giant splash pad, and you’ve got non-stop water action. They even heat the water when desert nights dip, so late swims are still cozy.

Lazy river, 4 waterslides, rope swing at Grand Wailea
Grand Wailea has one of the best resort pool complexes in Maui! There are nine interconnected pools, four waterslides, a rope swing, a whitewater rapids slide, a lazy river, a Tarzan pool, and even a swim-up grotto bar.
You could easily spend a full day here and not run out of things to do. The downside? It’s pricey and tough to book on points. But if you’re splurging on a special occasion or find a good deal, this is pool heaven for kids.
5 waterslides, lazy river, splash pad, ferry to beach at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point
This top Florida family resort, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point, has one of the best family pool setups!
There’s a massive lazy river, five waterslides (yes, five!), and a zero-entry splash area for toddlers. One of the most unique features? The resort offers a ferry that takes you to a private island beach. It’s a short, scenic ride and makes for the perfect afternoon adventure between pool sessions.
Waterslides, lazy river, splash pad at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines
Located just outside Austin, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines is one of the best Texas resorts for families, and it’s great for a resort-style stay without leaving Texas. There’s a huge lazy river that wraps around the pool area, a waterslide, and a separate splash pad for younger kids.
It feels rustic and nature-inspired but still has all the comforts of a full-service resort. You will love the ability to balance outdoor activities like horseback riding and river walks with pool downtime.
Lazy river, waterslides, splash zone, toddler play area at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa
Disney knows how to do pools, and this Oahu resort for kids proves it. Aulani has a lazy river, a zero-entry pool, two waterslides (including a tunnel slide), a giant splash zone with climbing structures, and a toddler-friendly shaded play area. You will love that there are lifeguards everywhere and that the vibe was relaxed, not chaotic.
While it’s not bookable with points, there are often deals in the off-season, and if your family is all about Disney magic with a Hawaiian twist, this is worth it.
Bottom line
If your kids judge a vacation by the pool (and let’s be honest, they do), these are some of the best hotel pools in the U.S. for families.
From twisting waterslides and lazy rivers to toddler splash zones and sand beach entries, each of these resorts delivers a pool setup that makes the trip feel like a win. And the best part? Many of them can be booked with points.
