Arrival & Check-In at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos

The experience begins with a grand entrance through the private Dos Mares Tunnel, leading to a breathtaking oceanfront arrival. We were greeted with a welcome margarita (or agua fresca). Since it was early and our room was not ready, we ventured downstairs to grab a bite. The service was warm, personalized, and immediate, setting the tone for the stay.

Pacific View King Room at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos

All rooms at the Waldorf Astoria Pedregal include private heated (!) plunge pools, ocean views, and a mix of rustic elegance and modern comfort. We stayed in a Pacific View King Room, a 856-square-foot room that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living. The room featured a spacious terrace with a private infinity-edge plunge pool, offering views of the Pacific Ocean.

Inside, the king-size bed was dressed in luxurious linens, while the sitting area with a fireplace added a cozy touch.

The bathroom was a highlight, with a deep soaking tub, a rainfall shower, and dual vanities stocked with high-end bath amenities.

A complimentary minibar, refreshed daily with soft drinks was a nice touch. Guests are also treated to a daily delivery of fresh guacamole and chips with drinks, along with a welcome bottle of premium tequila, adding to the indulgent experience.

Small but thoughtful details, such as nightly turndown service with artisanal chocolates and a personal concierge available via WhatsApp, enhanced the overall experience.

Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members enjoy a few key perks at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, though benefits at Waldorf Astoria properties can be more limited compared to other Hilton brands.

Both Gold and Diamond members receive a complimentary continental breakfast, with the option to upgrade to the full buffet for an additional charge. Room upgrades are based on availability, though suite upgrades are not guaranteed. Diamond members may have a better chance of receiving a more favorable upgrade. Additionally, both tiers get premium Wi-Fi, late check-out upon request, and personalized service from the resort’s dedicated concierge team.

Dining at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos is not an all-inclusive resort and offers some dining options that focus on high-quality, locally inspired cuisine. Guests can dine at El Farallon, the resort’s signature cliffside seafood restaurant with daily fresh catches, or Don Manuel’s (our favorite), which serves elevated Mexican cuisine using organic, locally sourced ingredients. For a more casual experience, The Beach Club offers light bites and refreshing cocktails by the pool. While dining prices are on the higher end, the exceptional quality and stunning oceanfront settings make every meal a memorable experience.

The beach at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos

Is Waldorf Cabo Beach swimmable? No, the beach here is not swimmable due to strong waves and currents, but the resort’s multiple pools and private plunge pools more than make up for it.

On another note, if you visit in winter during the whale watching season, you can witness jumping out of the water whales right from your room.

Spa & Wellness at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

The Waldorf Astoria Spa is world-class, offering hydrotherapy circuits, organic treatments, and outdoor treatment rooms overlooking the ocean.

Kids’ Activities at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

This was our one of not so many kid-free trips, but Waldorf Astoria Pedregal is not an adult only property! They offer a family-friendly experience with its Tortuguitas Kids Club, designed for children ages 4 to 12. The club provides a range of supervised activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling, cooking classes, and outdoor games, allowing younger guests to engage in fun and educational experiences while parents relax.

Families can also enjoy beachfront activities, family-friendly pools, and seasonal events like piñata-making and movie nights under the stars. While the resort maintains a tranquil, upscale atmosphere, it ensures that families traveling with kids have engaging options to make their stay enjoyable.

Excursions & Local Attractions

The resort can arrange private yacht charters, whale watching (in season), and guided Cabo San Lucas tours.

Bottom Line

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is an ultra-luxurious resort that delivers an exclusive experience, from private plunge pools in every room to personalized service that makes every guest feel special. The stunning ocean views, world-class dining, and attention to detail set it apart from other luxury resorts in Cabo.

So, is Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos worth it? If you value privacy, high-end amenities, and an intimate, five-star escape, then absolutely. The level of service and exclusivity makes it a top-tier destination, though it comes at a high price—both in cash and points.
