How to book Grand Hyatt Indian Wells on points

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells has moved up to a Category 6 Hyatt hotel, which means a standard room costs 25,000 points per night at the standard rate (with off‑peak at 21,000 and peak at 29,000).

This year, for our stay, we redeemed a Category 1–7 Hyatt Free Night Award. It was the perfect way to enjoy the newly rebranded Grand Hyatt Indian Wells without using points or cash.

Also, please remember that you don’t pay daily resort fees on your stays when booking on points (in this case, it’s a daily resort fee of $45).

Now, to get those Hyatt points, we transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards earned with our Chase cards to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

Remember, you need one of the premium Chase cards (Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, or Ink Preferred) to transfer to Hyatt.

Check-in at Grand Hyatt Indian Wells

Upon arrival, we left our rental with the valet, and later, we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff.

💡 Good to know

Grand Hyatt Indian Wells is located within 30 minutes ride from Palm Springs International Airport.

During our first stay, the check-in experience was especially thoughtful. As World of Hyatt Globalists, we were upgraded to a spacious room with two King Beds and a pool view. We noticed that a Family Room with one King Bed and bunk beds was still available for our dates, and when we asked about switching so the girls wouldn’t have to share a bed, they happily made the change.

On our most recent visit, the resort was much busier, but they still honored our status by assigning us the King Bed pool view room automatically before the check-in.

This time, we did not redeem our Hyatt Suite Upgrade Award, but if you hold one of those and want to secure a Suite for your stay, make sure to redeem it in advance!

Note that since 2024, Hyatt Suite Upgrade Awards can be gifted to someone else directly from your World of Hyatt account online or using the Hyatt mobile app.
